The `Blidaru` Fortress is one of the Dacian fortresses in the defense system in the `Orastie` mountains.
Situated on `Blidaru` hill (703 metres high), this fortress consisted of two united parts and six towers. The first fortress had the shape of a trapezium and four towers while the second had a pentagonal shape and a fight platform. The fortress was supplied with water from a quadrilateral-shaped reservoir built according to the Greek and Roman technique. This fortress had an essential role in the Daco-Roman wars between 101 and 102 and 105 and 106 AD.
