| | The founder of the Museum of Painted Glass Icons from Sibiel is the priest Zosim Oancea. He started to collect icons in 1968. The collection is one of the largest of these genre in the world.
It has over 700 icons painted during the 18 th - 19 th centuries in the famous schools: Nicula-North of Transylvania, Sebes - Alba Iulia, Marginimea Sibiului, Fagaras - Tara Oltului, Scheii Brasovului, Bucovina - North of Moldavia. Since 2001 the museum has got the name of its founder, priest Zosim Oancea | |
