| | Initial the square was oriented to the second belt of of fortifications, therefore the dominant points of the citadell at the end of the XIII-een century , the tower of the Evangelical Church and the Council Tour , to be in the same time the dominant points of the square , situation which was change just after the construction of the Roman-Catholic Church and the building of the bank.
The Big Square keep withh small changes the original plan of construction. On the sides from south and east are preserved the old buildings dated in the XV-een century. The north side was formed by the building of the Taylors Guild and other medieval houses, the one of the Jesuit Church and it theological school.( today the house of the priest)
In the first years of the XX-th century was built the building of the Agriculture credit Bank and because of that was born the street Samuel von Bruckenthal. On the west side , in the place of two houses with archways was built the Bruckenthal palace , today the Bruckenthal museum. | |
