What a better way to celebrate Halloween than the home land of Vlad the Impaler or better known as Dracula. We have prepared a special tour for this event to trace the foots steps of the "Real Dracula". Travel with your specialist tour guide to ancient residents of this phenomenon where Vlad use to dwell. Discover the truth and the myth of this unique legend. We have also included important elements of Romanian history on this tour like medieval castles, Peles Palace, city tours of important medieval cities- Brasov, Sibiu and Bistrita. Maybe the best moment of the tour is the Halloween Party in Sighisoara with a special guest – Dracula.
During the tour will visit the most important things related to Vlad "the Impaler" and Dracula legend. Will start with a visit at Vlad’s tomb which is situated in a monastery on a island in Snagov Lake. We’ll use a boat to get you there. Next will visit the ruins of the true castle of Vlad – Poienari. The castle is standing on a cliff and to go there you must climb it’s 1400 steps and takes about 40 minutes. The view from the top worth all your efforts. Bran Castle is also one of sights visited. It is clade Dracula’s Castle and it is a wonderful medieval castle one of the best from Romania. Vlad the Impaler was in prison here for two weeks.
Than going on the steps of the Bram Stocker’s novel we’ll go to Bistrita and visit (optional lunch) the Golden Crowne Hotel and Restaurant – the place where Jonathan Harper, the young layer stayed overnight to wait the count’s carriage to pick-up him. You can try the local speciality – the blood drink. One of the best nights will be at Dracula Castle Hotel in Borgo Pass, the perfect place to spend a night in the Halloween – Dracula atmosphere. From this tour we couldn’t avoid the medieval citadel of Sighisoara – the place where Vlad the Impaler was born in 1431. You’ll enjoy this citadel one of the very few medieval towns which are still enhabited, and which is entirely protected by UNESCO.
Beside the sights related with the myth and history of Vlad Dracula we’ll introduce you ones of the best Romanian tourist sights. The city of Brasov, one of the most important cities of Transylvania and Romania and maybe the biggest tourism center of Romania. It’s history starts in XIII century and the walls, towers and a lot of buildings from the medieval times are still preserved. Peles Castle from Sinaia – the former royal residence – a great palace and museum, luxurious decorations, royal apartments and reception rooms. It was one of the modern palaces from Europe for it’s time. Sibiu – a medieval city – XIII century it is also a important city from Transylvania and it was a powerful military, economic and cultural center during medieval ages. As a recognition of that Sibiu was the European Capital of Culture in 2007.
