Medieval Transylvania tour - 3 day
Explore a break tour in the atmosphere of Transylvania. a place where historical monuments, splendid landscapes and nature reserves or legends and traditions combine harmoniously. Visitors will be delighted to discover the exquisite mountain landscapes offered by the Carpathians. From the point of view of the landscape, Transylvania is dominated by high mountains with a tonic, stimulating climate, rich in excellent natural frameworks which enchant the eyes and are ideal for trips or hiking in the mountains, for practising winter sports), by lakes and plateaus (ideal for going fishing or going boating and walking), depressions, valleys covered by forests, nature reserves (with rare species of plants, trees and bushes as well as wild animals).
This natural framework combines perfectly to the historical monuments and museums, from the legendary Bran Castle (with its legend about Count Dracula) or former medieval cities as Brasov and Sighisoara to the fortresses, castles, fortified churches or the wonderful wooden churches unique in Europe.
Medieval Transylvania Tour want to invite you to explore the South-East part of Transylvania which is an area with very famous castles, medieval cities, fortresses and amazing natural landscapes. We’ll visit the city of Brasov, one of the most important cities of Transylvania and Romania and maybe the biggest tourism center of Romania. It’s history starts in XIII century and the walls, towers and a lot of buildings from the medieval times are still preserved. In the surroundings of Brasov we’ll find the famous Bran Castle – also known as Dracula’s Castle, Rasnov Fortress and Peles Castle – the former royal residence.
Other important sight is the medieval citadel of Sighisoara - the Pearl of Transylvania, one of the very few medieval citadels still enhabited and it’s included in UNESCO World Heritages. Sighisoara it’s also the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, also called Vlad Dracula after the legend. Spend the night in a hotel in the heart of citadel. Your guide will explain to you the history, real facts and the myth of Dracula. In this part of Transylvania the german (saxon) influence is very powerful the Prejmer fortress and other villages and places are a proof of that.
