Nearby attractions: the city of Oradea, Bear’s Cave Eforie Nord is located on the Romanian Black Sea coast, nearby Lake Techirghiol, whose waters have long been held as cure for arthritic, rheumatic, internal and nervous system disorders. Eforie Nord was established in 1894, when a clinic first opened here. Later, under the patronage of King Carol I (1839 – 1914), a health resort sprang up. Besides the sea air and sun, another curative factor is the rich, black, sapropelic mud – knows locally as namol – from Techirghiol Lake. Today, Eforie Nord treatments include mud baths as well as world-famous Gerovital and Aslavital original rejuvenation treatments. Nearby attractions: the city of Constanta, the city of Mangalia, Danube Delta, Murfatlar Vineyards Ocna Sibiului. Mud packing, aerosols treatments and salt water baths in lakes created after several old salt mines had been inundated, have been used here successfully in the treatment of rheumatic, dermatological, endocrine and gynecological affections, as well as asthma. Nearby attractions: Sibiu – medieval city, Sighisoara – medieval citadel, Calnic Castle, Alba Iulia citadel of Reunion, saxon fortified churches – Biertan, Axente Sever, Valea Viilor, aso, St Margareth Cathedral-Medias, Balea – glaciar lake, Sambata Monastery, Fagaras Castle. Sovata. First mentioned in a 1597 document but recorded as a resort in 1850, Sovata is located at 1,600 ft. above the sea level, in the stunning forested region of Transylvania, Sovata features the heliothermal Ursu (Bear) lake – unique in Europe. The mineral waters here are highly prescribed in gynecological and sterility afflictions. The nearby salt mine from Praid offers a suitable environment for the treatment of afflictions of the respiratory system, such as asthma. Nearby attractions: Sighisoara – medieval citadel, The Fortified Church at Biertan, Hasmas - Bicaz Gorges National Park & Ceahlau National Park. Baile Herculane - This is the oldes health resort in Romania, known since the Roman times, when it was called Ad aquas Herculis sacras (its documentary attestation as a resort dates back to A.D. 153), for the therapeutical effects of the sulphurous, sodic, calcic, magnesian, oligomineral thermal waters, that are slightly radioactive, used both in internal and external cures. The resort has developed especially after 1948 when it became an all-season resort of national importance, recommended for the treatment of degenrative rheumatic troubles (arthrosis, polyarthrosis, spondylosis, etc.), inflammatory (spondylitis) and abarticular (tendonitis, tendomyositis, scapulohumeral periarthritis), peripheral neurological disorders (pareses, paralysis), as well as for the treatment of associated diseases (gynecological, respiratory, otorhynolaryngological, dermatological, obesity, etc.). The modern balneal facilities provide for hydrotherapy, kinetotherapy, electrotherapy, there are gyms and sauna, etc. Nearby attractions: Iron Gates Dam and hydro power station, Oprisor and Carl Rein vineyards, Nerei Gorges Covasna. It is a country-wide important health resort and spa, the most important health resort of Covasna county. Before 1876 Covasna was the centre of the historical Orbaiszék. Covasna has flourished as a health-resort since the 1880's. In 1881 was elaborated the fundamental rule of the spa's activity. The mineral water from Covasna won gold metal at the exhibition from Trieste in 1882 and 1887. The mineral waters and mofettes of Covasna are recommended for the following diseases: heart and blod-vessel troubles (myocarditis, heart valve troubles), skin-affections, diseases of the alimentary canal and endocrine glands, women diseases, locomotor diseases, central and peripheral nervous system diseases respectively. Bran Castle, Peles Castle, saxon fortified churches from Prejmer and Harman, Sighisoara – medieval citadel, Rosu (Red) Lake, Bicaz Gorges National Park & Ceahlau National Park, Lazarea Castle, Toplita Monastery.
