The legend says that if a man tell a lie on the bridge that one will be broken down. The liars bridge was the first bridge from Transylvania and Romania made entirely from metal. Built around the year 1851 instead of a lot of housese and a tunnel made in the XV-een century which connect the Uppertown with downtown in a place where was sometime an old bullwark the Liars bridge it is now one of the most important touristic objective from Sibiu

Situated in the south-west of Transylvania, Sibiu County, together with Brasov County, is the most representative as far as the historical vestiges and the natural landscape are concerned. The city of Sibiu is rightly considered as one of the most beautiful and well preserved historical cities in Transylvania and in Europe as well, with a national architectural heritage lying over 80,000 square km. The Medieval Fortress of Sibiu as large as the Fortress in Vienna at a certain time, is the greatest medieval monument in Transylvania, consisting of walls, fortifications and towers which remained intact after the two World Wars, still preserving the spirit and the atmosphere of the long ago.

The church is situated up a hill in the north of the village and dates from the 15th century, its oldest elements being in the Romanic style. Along the history, buildings whose role was to defend the church were added to the original one such as the heightening of the Choir and some holes for throwing the tar while the polygonal wall was fortified with four towers. The surrounding wall had firing vents and holes for throwing the tar. The vault of the church and the classic interior elements as well (altar, pulpit, font, organ, pews) date from the 19th century.

On the road which connect Medias to Sibiu, close to Copsa Mca will found the village Axente Sever, documentary attested in 1305. Right on the entrance into the village from Copsa Mica exist the fortified church built probably into the XIV-th century. The oldest part of the church its represented by the tower situated right in the middle of the construction.

The church was built in the 15th century, but the Romanic elements from the 13th century prove that it was older. The Choir is built like a tower. Until the end of the 19th century the choir tower and the gate tower had an uncovered watch way. On the north side of the choir there is a sacramental niche from 1504. The Baroque organ and a 16th century pew are also worth seeing.

Biertan is the place in Romania where archeologists discovered a bronze vase with the Latin inscription `Ego Zenovivs Votum Posvi` - proof of the Daco-Roman continuity on these places.

Just like any other town in Transylvania, the Fortress of Medias was surrounded by strong walls and defense towers. Due to the massive construction, these latter resisted until nowadays.

The Franciscan Architectural Centre is one of the most visited tourist attractions of the town and it was built between the years 1500 and 1515.

Miercurea Sibiului is a village not far from the city of Sibiu and it is famous for its old age and the fortified church here.

At Mosna, not far from the city of Sibiu, there is one of the most impressive and beautiful buildings in the Gothic style in Romania.
The Protestant Church with its imposing steeple was built between 1480 and 1486 by Master Andreas Lapicida. The fortification surrounding the edifice impresses every visitor and Charles, the Prince of Wales made no exception when he was here.
 Ocna Sibiului ? the Resort  

It is a famous thermal resort in Transylvania and Romania as well.
Ocna Sibiului (14 km far north from the city of Sibiu) is situated at an altitude of 410 metres, being a permanent thermal resort. It has been known since the Daco-Roman period when salt was being extracted from the salt mines here. Nowadays, 15 lakes can be found in the former salt mines being used for therapeutic purposes or as swimming pools.

Sibiel is a village located in South of Transylvania, 22 km far from Sibiu city. The church is a historical monument of religious belonging to the first half of the 18 th century.

Sibiu, the capital city of the Sibiu County, 272 km far from Bucharest is set on the foundations of an ancient establishment permanently inhabited since the Stone Age. The first documents appeared between 1192 and 1196 when Sibiu was called `Cibinum` after the river Cibin which crosses the city. In the 12th-13th centuries when the Transylvanian Saxons began to settle in this area, Sibiu was called `Hermannstadt`. The Romanians called the place `Sibiu`, thus reminding of the ancient name of `Cibinium`.

Every medieval city had a symbol renowned all over Transylvania. So were the Black Church in Brasov and the Clock Tower in Sighisoara. The symbol of Sibiu is the City Hall Tower which was historically first mentioned in 1370.

This museum was opened in 1972, its collections bringing together over 6,600 pieces of medical practice from the 16th to the 19th century.
