Summer and autumn habits in Maramures are interconnected with the seasons and the agricol work. It is very good for everybody to have moments of break in the activity of work.

Summer Habits

Arminden  In June, the young men stood in the woods, in the mountains, cutting a large tree to take him on their shoulders, fir or beech, and took him to the center of the village where they picked him up. The name of the tree and the tree was Arminden. They were making the top branches and adorning the trunk with the grain of wheat and flowers. Then there was a young man's race to climb to the top of the tree.

On the Saturday before the Arminden, each of the families left someone to bring a young birch and lime branches. At dawn, long before the sun rose, when the Day Luceafar was barely lifted and the dew was not "reminiscent of light," each farmer put the birch at the gate and lime branches to the stresses of the house and the saliva. Then she adorned her interior with flowers of jasmine and lime.

The ancestors  The name is significant and sends to the patriarchal community. The habit takes place in the cemetery on the S-V side where the stone-covered stone slabs are placed. Each occupied his place according to the hierarchy of the people and took the place of someone else was sacrilege.   After the blessings of each man's household divided the pomp for the dead. The houses and gates of green maple branches were trained. Basil was put in the water and kept all year round. Water was good for cure.

Sanzienele ( The fairys) The sanitians are tall, airy and slender flowers with well-rooted roots, they are a symbol of purity and nature's gentleness. When Sanzienele bloom is the sign of the beginning of summer agricultural work, especially the mowing of the fan, the period full of celebrations and spontaneous practices.

Through several settlements on the upper course of the Visa Valley people still retain traditions such as "walking with faclia(torch)". The young boys gather in tree bark resin from the trees (mollusks), then look for a dry spruce from which they make a hair. Then everyone makes a fainting flame as much as possible. The thinning head of the hair is carved and smooth to be held in the hands, the thicker end is cracked in 4. They are taken with spruce, dry spruce chips, and with the hemp are brought hemps of hemp. The chisels are inserted into the cross between the splitting pieces, leaving the resin between them. Then, as well, chips, smooth and resin rows are placed over each other on a 50-60 cm portion of that hair. They have a role not only in lighting the facade but also fixing it and keeping the resin not flying during invasion. When it is ready, it is connected with the wire at the end to keep it tight, resin and shavings.

On the night, children and sons, climb up with the faces on the hills, gather in a circle, light their faces, then turn in order, not to spill when the faces break. Each turns the facade over his head, or in the direction of turning the sun straightening: "faclia maaa ... facllia maaa ..." (yooo the torch, yooo the torch ) and the children "children the torch”

It is also said that Sanziana was then in the water of Viseu and then dressed in a flower shirt of hers. The beautiful thing is, nor the cuckoo can not sing. That is why the girls gather in groups and ride the valleys by collecting flowers, blooms, bells, daisies, roses and other mountain flowers, which they bring home and put them on the beam.

Autumn Habits

The group work Besides the practical part of the common work, made more sporadic and with better fruits, crayons are a reason for the folk manifestations, for the preservation of the legends and traditions inherited from the ancestors. The one who makes the crash, at the end, honors claws with a table.

The Bee The end of autumn and winter do not make it possible for girls to finish their homework. So, in the long winter nights gather in deserters.
