This is our proposal for those who are interested in a short but dynamic tour in Romania, a journey which will reveal the best sights which Romania has to offer. We are visiting the cultural, historic sights but we are also driving through the beautiful natural and rural areas of our country. We will start with a tour of Transylvanian best attarctions such as: Sibiu, Corvin’s castle, Sighisoara medieval town, Brasov, Bran castle and fortified churches. Next we’ll go to Bucovina, famous for its outside painted monasteries (UNESCO monuments). To complete our trip in Romania we’ll visit Peles Castle and Bucharest city. Carpathians mountains, Red lake, Bicaz lake, Bicaz Gorges are just some of the natural sights on our route. Join us for one of the best tours in Romania!

Day 1. BUCHAREST – SIBIU

Meet our tour guide, in the morning at your hotel in Bucharest or at the airport for arrivals until 10.00PM. Note: on request we can include extra nights and travel services in Bucharest. We’ll start our tour in Romania driving on the way to Transylvania. Crossing the Carpathians mountains you can admire great views and landscapes. We’ll stop in an old village from Sibiu area. You can enjoy a horse driven wagon tour in the old village. Learn more about the local traditions and way of living. Visit a local household and have a traditional lunch with home-made products.
End the day in Sibiu. Walking tour of the Sibiu’s Old District. Sibiu is one of the most important fortified towns in Transylvania.. The city is reminiscent of old European cities such as Nuremburg and it was founded in 1190 and grew to be the chief city of the Transylvanian Saxons. Explore this amazing city having an afternoon walking tour in the Sibiu’s Old Town.  Highlights are Big Square, Little square, Lutheran – Evangelic Cathedral, Orthodox Cathedral, Liar’s Bridge, Medieval Wall and Bulwarks. Sibiu is considered one of the European most romantic cities and we are sure you’ll enjoy spending your evening.

DAY 2. SIBIU – HUNEDOARA - ALBA IULIA – SIGHISOARA

In the morning we’ll go to Hunedoara to visit the biggest medieval castle from Romania – Corvin’s (Hunyad) Castle, dating since 15th century. Former residence of the Transylvanian Governors, the castle impress with its powerful defensive towers and wall. The castle preserve very well the authentic architecture of the 15th century and it is one of the most popular tourist sights from Romania.
We’ll continue to Alba Iulia, a city with long history dating since the ancient times. Visit the Orthodox Cathedral, Catholic Cathedral, the fortification system built in “Vauban” style. Alba Iulia has a huge role in the history of Romania because here was celebrated the union of all Romanians in a single country. We’ll visit the Union museum and the Union Hall.
End the day in Sighisoara. Overnight in a 3 stars hotel, located in the Old Town – Hotel Sighisoara or similar.

Day 3. SIGHISOARA - BUCOVINA (GURA HUMORULUI)

We’ll start the day with a visit on the medieval town of Sighisoara (UNESCO), also called “The Pearl of Transylvania” a wonderful  medieval city where you can stil enjoy the medieval atmosphere. The citadel built in 13th century by German (Saxon) settlers it was an important cultural and artist center in medieval period. The old town is considered one of the best preserved medieval towns from Europe and its included in the UNESCO heritages list. Highlights of our tour in Sighisoara are Clock Tower, Church on the Hill, Tailors Tower, Tinsmiths' tower, Birthplace of Vlad Dracula, etc. You can have short time to enjoy a coffe or for shopping in the medieval citadel.
Next we’ll cross the Carpathians mountains heading north-east to one of the most famous and popular region of Romania – Bucovina, the land of painted monasteries. It is a very scenic road which offer amazing landscapes. We’ll stop on the way at Borgo Pass, famous due to the Dracula’s novel.
End your day in Gura Humorului. Overnight at Hildes residence**** or similar.

Day 4. BUCOVINA – PAINTED MONASTERIES – BICAZ LAKE

We’ll have a tour of the most important painted monasteries from Bucovina. There are UNESCO sites where the churches exterior walls was painted 500 years ago and we still have today amazing frescoes still preserved.
First visit at Voronet Monastery (UNESCO), founded in 1488 by Stephen the Great . It is the most accomplished sample of artistic achievement in Moldavian architecture and painting . The impressive Last Judgment fresco is one of the best and most beautiful works of art.
Continue to Moldovita Monastery (UNESCO), dates back from 1532 and is due to the ruling prince Petru Rares. It has the aspect of a fortress, with imposing towers and high, thick walls. The church has a three-cusped plan, as well as an open porch. It Is decorated with scenes from the 16th c Moldavian life. You can see here the best preserved frescoes, with fresh and vivid colors
Next to Sucevita Monastery : the last and the most magnificent monastic achievement among the painted monasteries in Bucovina , looks as a real fortress, with towers, buttresses and watch roads. Built in 1581, by one bishop, it was dedicated to the Assumption in 1584. Paintings of the Sucevita monastery were best preserved both on the outside and on the inside walls.
Beside the old and beautiful monasteries we’ll also dedicate some time to visit local craftsmen as: a painted eggs museum and workshop, Marginea pottery center.
In the afternoon we’ll drive on the way to Bicaz Lake and we’ll stay in a small hotel on the shore of the lake. Great chance to enjoy the views over the lake and mountains.

Day 5. BICAZ LAKE – PREJMER - BRASOV

Deapart in the morning. Our tour in Romania will continue on the shore of Bicaz Lake and we’ll cross the Eastern Carpathian mountains, back to Transylvania. We’ll pass in our way the  amazing Bicaz Gorges and Red Lake. 
Next we’ll visit the fortified church from Prejmer (UNESCO), dating since 13th century and having an unique defensive architecture. Fortified churches are characteristic for Southern Transylvania having a religious and a defensive role.
End the day in Brasov. In the afternoon walking tour of the medieval center of Brasov. The city of Brasov is one of the oldest in Europe, dating from 1235. During the Middle Ages, Brasov was known as a powerful fortress surrounded by high stone walls and defended by bulwarks, towers and other small fortresses. The buildings and the streets in the historical centre still preserve a medieval note. Council Square, Black Church, White and Black Towers, Weaver’s Bastion and Ecaterina’s Gate are the tour highlights.

Day 6. BRASOV – BRAN – SINAIA - BUCHAREST

In the morning we’ll visit famous Bran castle. Also called Dracula`s Castle, it is situated not far from Brasov (25 kilometres) at the entrance in the Bran - Rucar passage. The castle got its fame from Dracula`s legend written in 1897 by Bram Stoker and later on made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola.. The first documents about the Bran Castle appeared in 1377. 
Continue to Sinaia and visit the Peles Castle, former summer residence of the kings of Romania. It is one of the nicest surprises Romania has to offer. Peles is considered one of the best castles of Europe.
End our journey with a panoramic tour of Bucharest. Highlights: Parliament Palace, Revolution Square, Athenaeum, Royal Palace, Triumph Arch, Victoriei Avenue, etc.
Drop-off at the airport (aprox 5.30-6.00 PM) or to a hotel in Bucharest.

Payments and cancellations policy for our Best of Romania tour

Payments
To secure your booking a deposit of 100 euro/person is required.
The final payment has to be made with minimum 15 days prior the tour start.
The payments can be made online by credit card or by banking transfer
In certain circumstances can be made cash or card on arrival

Cancellations
Special conditions. If an emergency situation occurs (pandemic, disasters, revolution, war, etc) and the Romanian authorities or the authorities from the traveler’s country impose restrictions to travel, to enter or leave the country, the cancellation can be made anytime without any penalty.

Standard conditions. If none of the above mentioned situations occur the cancellation policy is:
No penalty apply if the cancellation is made with minimum 15 days prior the tour. Any deposit paid will be refunded in maximum 10 days.
50 % penalty fee apply if the cancellation is made with 5-14 days prior the our departure.
100% penalty fee apply if the cancellation is made with less than 5 days prior the tour start or in case of NO SHOW.

Why to book this tour?

Our tour will guide you through a selection of the best tourist attractions in Romania. We’ll explore the most famous region – Transylvania which still preserve the medieval architecture. We’ll visit the medieval towns as Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara and the famous castles as Bran or Hunyad. Transylvania is famous for the uniques fortified churches and we will visit the one in Prejmer – the biggest fortified church from Romania and a UNESCO site.
Then we’ll visit Bucovina – the land of outside painted monasteries. These are unique monuments and many of them are included in the UNESCO World Heritages list. In our tour itinerary we have included the visits at the most important monasteries: Voronet, Moldovita and Sucevita. Our tour guide will tell you the story of this monasteries and will share with you his knowledges about the history and culture of Romania, about its people and their traditions and way of living. We are very lucky because in Romania the old traditions are still very well preserved and it is a big joy for our guests to discover and to experience them. We’ll visit craftsmen, some local people houses, we’ll have a ride in a horse driven wagon and we’ll see the old villages and countryside scenery.
