9.00 AM. Meet with our guide at your location from Brasov and start the tour. We’ll go to Prejmer fortified church (UNESCO). Prejmer is situated near Brasov and it is proud of the largest fortified church in South-Eastern Europe. The church was built starting with the 13th century and was surrounded by protective walls 3-4 metres thick and 12 metres high, fortified bulwarks, iron gates and drawbridges. Beside the firing vents on the walls, the fortress also had a fighting device called "the organ of death" that is a series of weapons set together and which simultaneously got fire, bringing about panic and heavy losses to the enemy part. A supplementary protection was the moat usually filled with water which surrounded the walls. Several rooms host a collection of crafts, tools, costumes and objects specific for the Transylvanian Saxons.

Second stop will be at Harman, another German village. The Harman Fortified Church was built in the 13th century. The church is surrounded by high walls and seven defence towers. Throughout history the inhabitants renewed and adapted the fortress to their needs. The north chapel was renewed in the 15th century and displays an impressive architecture which combines Renaissance elements with 16th-century Gothic elements. The exterior decorations of the chapel were carved in wood and represented human figures. Inside the church the 16th-century benches are still preserved. A very interesting ethnographic museum displays objects from local history and life.

Next we’ll drive to Viscri, one of the most famous and charming old villages from Transylvania, a place which preserve, very well, the old architecture and way of life. Enjoy a walk on the village streets, see local craftsmen and small shops. We’ll visit the Viscri fortified church (UNESCO). The oldest parts of the building are dated in 12th century.

Optional. It is possible to have a short detour and a stop to visit Rupea fortress, known as a “peasent fortress”.
Return to Brasov and drop-off at your location.
